I wil try your suggestions but i don't understand why WIFI can be the problem.
i'm not stating the problem is wireless per se, but it's the painful process of eliminating each possible component to unearth the root cause.
If you can try the smb connection via wireless, then the wired method etc - you'll have a good case for the Jedi's to potentially step in? As you can demonstrate what you've tested at each stage.
As it does sound like the Readynas is handling something differently to your previous setup.
FWIW -
i) the test via a smb connection on the musicpal should be worthwhile (set it up via the web interface of the Musicpal)
If the problem does not exist under this set-up, there are a few thread's knocking around at the moment in respect to the Readynas's implementation of dlna, which could well be causing an issue in your case.
ii) Going off thread slightly, I'm sure the most recent firmware (Duo + NVX) presents my folder structure slightly different on the musicpal under certain situations, trying to be too smart and showing the mp3's by an alphabetic prefix, instead of just listing all the entries in one folder. :(
best of luck with the process of elimination & hopefully dbotts guide may help out. - keep us posted on your progress,
