ReadyDLNA will stream to Xbox360, but not Sony BR - SOLVED

Hi,

I have an NV+ (v1) , running latest firmware Raidiator 4.1.14 and DLNA and my share folders are default.

I can stream videos and music to my Xbox360 with no problem.

My Sony Bluray will see the music folder and play music, but does not recognize any video. Video format is MP4. If I hook a USB drive to the Blu-ray it will recognize the folders and it will play the MP4 video files. These are the same files that are on the NAS, so I know they are encoded correctly, etc.

any ideas?

This appears to be a limitation of the DLNA client in the BluRay player. There's not much you can do about it. If you had an x86 NAS you could install a transcoding server like Plex, but that's not an option for the NV+
  • Thanks for the help.
I did some additional research and it is indeed a limitation on the formats allowed for DLNA on this player. Looks like I might have to buy a more modern model.
