ReadyDR NAS 2120v2
Hi to all! I would like to enable the ReadyDR function on my RN 2120v2 but I read that shouldn't work on this NAS model because using an ARM processor. The question is why the firmware 6.10.2 I...

Hi orlroc,
I got an update. RN2120 can't support ReadyDR as well.
May I have the serial number of your NAS? We will need this so we can log a ticket to the appropriate team to correct this. Please send it to me via PM (private message).

Sorry but I don't understand... Netgear removed Netgear Replicate services from a NAS that you are selling yet and added ReadyNas DR feature that doesn't work on this model... So in your site, advertising, eshop site, show that the 2120v2 has a feature that It's not really available.... It's not correct for the customer!

JohnCM_S: It is inconsistent, and IMO that should be corrected. For instance, https://www.netgear.com/images/datasheet/storage/RN2120_RR2304_RN3138.pdf says that "all ReadyNAS support ... ReadyDR" on page 1, but correctly says that the RN2120v2 does not on the bottom of page 2.
FWIW, if I were in Netgear's shoes I'd just enable it on the RN2120v2, since it has enough memory. Performance would be less than the other rack mount ReadyNAS, though that is already the case for normal access.
orlroc: If you are backing up shares, then you could look at combining rsync incremental backup with snapshots (which create retention). That has similar properties - and it is highly available (unlike ReadyDR). But it's not ideal for iSCSI LUNs, since rsync copies the entire LUN when anything changes.

I bought a new ReadyNas 3138 and I'm using it as source with the old 2120v2 as target for ReadyDR. I can confirm that all works perfectly and I already managed 1TB snapshot without performance issue....
