ReadyNA Remote Client Problem

Hi everyone

I'm running Mountain Lion and I've installed the latest ReadyNAS Remote client. I've notice that after the installation of the client everything works fine. As soon as I reboot ReadyNAS Remote fails to login. If I do an install of the client again everything works again but again as soon as I reboot it fails to login.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Yes!!!!! I have the same issue. What is up with that? Why do I need to reinstall ReadyNAS Remote every time I wish to connect?

EDIT - This issue has been resolved. Readynas remote is working now.

The ML client does have its issues but at least it kind of works. We early adopters of ML have to accept that it can take some time to get things working how we'd like. As well as adding some preliminary support for ML, the Remote client update added some new features.

I haven't had to re-install it every time I need to reconnect but I have had to re-enter my credentials.

Before updating to the latest Remote client did you move the old version to the trash. If not, move ReadyNAS Remote to the trash and then re-install it.
  • Hi ya

At least it's not just me then! Yes I dragged the old version to the trash can. I've always had weird niggles with this client even on OSX Lion. I stopped using it in the end and just used finder instead. I only installed this time so that I can use ReadyDrop. No doubt there will be an update soon. I dread to think how much of my life I've wasted fiddling trying to get this ReadyNAS Duo V2 working properly. :D
  • I dragged my old version to the trash as well before installing the new version. It seems ludicrous that I would actually have to RE-INSTALL the program prior to use each time. Sounds to me like the credentials are not being written properly wherever they get saved, and then if they are re-entered, the changes do not take effect. I mean come on, this is just a Log-In issue. We know the program works from a clean install, so whatever the program does with the credentials when ReadyNAS remote CLOSES is obviously the issue. It does not take a genius to figure out, and should not take a genius to fix it either.
  • Same problem. Thanks for the "reinstall every time I want to use it" tip.
  • Thanks cydeweyz. TunTap fixed my ReadyNAS Remote Client issue for Mountain Lion. Now if I could only find a fix for the ReadyNAS Remote app on my iPhone.
  • Everything is working OK again. I guess Netgear has been getting their act together. Thanks, it's all working fine now.
