Thanks but I want to keep the existing backup. So use both disks for time machine, a different backup on each. I have different shares but even if they are mounted I can't select them from the list time machine offers cos they aren't there.

Hello Risky3uk,
Unfortunately, even if there is no RAID and there are 2 different volumes, even when accessing NAS via SMB/CIFS, it only shows the shares of the NAs and not the 2 different volumes.
I'll check with others if there is a way somewhere, somehow to point TimeMachine to which volume you want the back up.
