ReadyNAS 104 adaptor aggregation errors

Question

Hello,&nbsp;I have been using my ReadyNAS104, with the 6.7.4 firmware upgrade&nbsp;with no issues other than a&nbsp;slow connection for about two years. I just replaced my old Netgear Nighthawk router with a new Nighhawk x8 R8500. I planned to add a bonded adaptor to correct some of the lag issues I experienced.&nbsp;When I have attempted to bond the adaptors using the recommended settings&nbsp;in the admin screen, the NAS freezes up, and I have to cycle the power by physically unplugging the power cord to the NAS device.&nbsp;The error that I receive is "putname+64." I cannot find any information regarding this error.&nbsp;Why is it doing this? What settings can I use to correct the adaptor aggregation issues?&nbsp;If you have any follow up questions that will help find a solution, I will answer them to the best of my ability.&nbsp;Thank you in advance for any assistance,&nbsp;Scot

Can you post a screen shot of the R8500 LACP screen and also the one for the RN104?

FWIW, the RN104 is limited by it's CPU - you won't see much (if any) speed up with LACP. &nbsp;What speeds are you seeing? &nbsp;NasTester is a useful test tool if you use Windows (&nbsp;http://www.808.dk/?code-csharp-nas-performance )

Hello, Thank you for your response!&nbsp;Good comments on the NAS performance question, the backups have seemed very slow to me - I'll post the results of the test once completed. Good comments on the NAS performance, tho.&nbsp;Here are the screenshots that you requested:

You do need to use the two ports on the R8500 that support LACP.

You also need to set up the LACP bond on the ReadyNAS.
&nbsp;
Start with one ethernet connection (temporary disconnect eth1). &nbsp;You get to the NAS configuration screen by clicking on the settings wheel for eth0, and select "new bond". &nbsp;Configure it as shown below:

When done, make sure it all still functions, then reconnect eth1.

I followed these steps exactly. I must have done something differently this time, because I came up with a new error this time. The RN104 comes up with the error message "free_pcppages_bu1k+f4" . It froze up, and I can only start it by cycling the power.&nbsp;Any ideas?&nbsp;Thanks again for all of your help/suggestions.&nbsp;Scot

I think someone from netgear should look at your logs. &nbsp;So I'd download the log zip from the NAS. &nbsp;Try asking&nbsp;mdgm-ntgr&nbsp;if he wants to take a look (using the message link in the upper right). &nbsp;Include a link to this thread.

BTW, after you rebooted, what was the bond status shown (both on the router and the NAS)?
