Readynas 104 reports Full Disks
Hi guys,
I have been reading this whole 16 page thread and almost feel that i got to know you by now.
Anyways, it has been very helpful to read about all of your attempts and "beta testing" s...

The volume was fully allocated and the metadata allocation was full.
Via Teamviewer I was able to change this and now a balance is running. As a balance has never successfully been run on the volume before this will take quite some time.
I would recommend scheduling a balance to run every few weeks or so at a time when the NAS is being used lightly.

Hi guys,
I have a 104 with 2x2TB and 2x4TB. The last one (which I will refer to as the 8TB disk from now on) is the buggy one.
But still, the 8TB share is useless now as i cannot append any files and i probably have to buy a new disk to store my files until this matter is resolved (i am strongly considering buying another NAS).
You posted your reply on a long dead thread (ended January 2014). So I moved it here.
Did you set up these two volumes as RAID-0? What firmware are you running.

Also can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

Thank you StephenB and mdgm.
The current NAS firmware is 6.2.5 (upgraded from 6.2 during my efforts).
Both volumes are RAID-0.
The logs are sent as instructed.
I also wish to say that after reading the original thread which I posted in, my impression is that the customer service today has improved significantly since then.
Way to go :)

The 8TB volume needs a balance to be run on it. A balance should be scheduled to be run regularly e.g. every few weeks.
