Readynas 104 reports Full Disks
Hi guys,
I have been reading this whole 16 page thread and almost feel that i got to know you by now.
Anyways, it has been very helpful to read about all of your attempts and "beta testing" s...

The volume was fully allocated and the metadata allocation was full.
Via Teamviewer I was able to change this and now a balance is running. As a balance has never successfully been run on the volume before this will take quite some time.
I would recommend scheduling a balance to run every few weeks or so at a time when the NAS is being used lightly.

Ah, I see you ran a balance and that finished very quickly.
It may need to be balanced manually from the backend.

I wish to extend a thank you to mdgm for solving this issue for me.
He connected to my computer via Teamviewer and "did his thing" using a terminal client with root access to the NAS.
At all times we had a chat window open where he explained what was going on and how things worked.
Great customer support!

Hello again, mdgm
The balance completed successfully.
I also tried to do a defrag afterwards like you recommended me to - but this results in the following error message:
(I also started one for the Quatro volume, and that seems to work. I see no progress indication, but at least i get no error message either)

Can you reboot the NAS then try the defrag again?

This morning when I logged in to the GUI to reboot it, there was a message saying that defrag for Octagon was complete.
So despite the error message (and lacking "defragmentation started" message in the log) it actually started and run.
That can explain the lacking writing performance of the volume and the overall reduced reading performace from the NAS.
Now things looks much better. I will anyway perform a reboot later today when the current writing operation are finished
