readynas 2100 : corrupt root
hie, pls help. just purchased a readynas 2100 and have installed one hard disk. i have downloaded RAIDar 4.3.3 and installed it on my pc which is running on windows xp. but when i connect the nas to the pc and the network sometimes the RAIDar does not find the Nas, but when it does, it shows the ip address of the nas and where the disk is located but in the last column it indicates corrupt root and the setup and browse buttons are not active. what should i do?

- chirpaLuminaryThe one disk you installed, used it previously on a Windows/etc PC? If the NAS sees existing partition tables on the disk, it will not initialize it.
You would need to perform a factory default, which erases all contents on the disk and starts fresh: http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how ... on15002100 - yamiAspiranthie chirpa, it is a new disk. but hence i already tried performed the factory default and also did just now but it still says corrupt root
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserYou could try connecting it to your PC and doing a fast zero-write with WD Lifeguard - that will eliminate any chance the readynas is seeing a partition on the disk.
