If a ReadyNAS is powered down when the power is cut, then it shouldn't be starting up when power is restored. FWIW, that should not require any configuration or setting changes.
I have no idea why this particular NAS isn't doing that. I guess Wake-on-LAN is one possibility, so you might see if that is turned on.
One workaround is to get a UPS. Then the ReadyNAS won't see any power loss. When it is powered down, the battery in the UPS will last a very long time, since there is almost no power being used by the NAS.
