I've already tried a factory reset and also disabled WOL. The settings are completely identical to those of my other ReadyNAS 214. Is there anything in the hardware that can be adjusted? I bought the ReadyNAS used. Perhaps the previous model had some adjustments...

Not that I know of.
Some ReadyNAS have VGA headers on the system board. With those systems, you can connect that to a VGA monitor and hook up a USB keyboard. Then you can see the BIOS. But I don't think the RN214 has that header.
