ReadyNAS 3100 update
I have a ReadyNAS 3100 whose firmware release is v4.2.22. The NAS mounts 4 Seagate ST33000650NS disks with a capacity of 3TB each one. I want to update the firmware. Which version can/sould I upda...

That is my recollection also. Which means that the space reported by windows is incorrect, and the files aren't using that much space.
You can confirm this by looking at the space reported by the NAS, not by windows.

I think this should be resolved by updating the firmware.
If I recall correctly we had a setting to optimise performance, but with recent versions of Windows it led to usage being recorded incorrectly in Windows Explorer. So we changed the setting back in a firmware update.

Did you update to 4.2.28 and did that resolve the problem?

Yes, thank you to everybody.
By the way, we were unable to update directrly but we had to download the new version and install it manually, but I presume it's a network issue.

If you have a static I.P. set on the NAS you should check that the network settings are set correctly on the NAS (i.e. you specified the correct DNS Server addresses etc.).
