Can you download RAIDar 6.5 and install in on a PC (or Mac)? https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar
It should find your NAS on the network, and give you some status. Let us know what it says (ideally attach a screenshot of RAIDar to your post).

If you capture more than you need, you can crop it. But please keep the full resolution, and store it as a PNG (not JPG). You attach it to the post using either the "Choose File" control underneath the post, or using the "photos" icon in the post toolbar.
After that - RAIDar also has controls to get logs from the NAS and run diagnostics. If those controls are active, try getting the logs first, and then run the diagnostics.

Thanks for such a prompt response Stephen. Okay... I have installed the new RAIDar. The status is saying: Management Service is Offline. The firmware is: 6.9.3. My problem now is that for me to get the logs etc. it needs my usual login credentials, which for some reason it is no longer accepting! I am definietely entering the correct credentials. Is there a limit to how many times I can enter them i.e. could it have locked me out? Or by moving to the new RAIDar, is there a new default password (I have tried admin/ password). Everything I enter just tells me Not a Valid Username or Password???

The default admin password is still password.
One option is to try an OS reinstall from the boot menu - see pages 65-67 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/ReadyNAS_%20OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf
That should
- partially reinstall the OS. Data shouldn't be affected (neither should most settings).
- The network will be reset to DHCP (automatic) with bonding off
- Admin password will be reset to password
- Volume quota (on the volume settings wheel) will be turned off
If that doesn't restore admin access, you should consider using paid support (my.netgear.com).
