ReadyNAS 516 - Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1,2,3,4,5,6
Hi all I wonder if anyone can assist & with the remove inactive volumes error that I now have on my ReadyNAS 516.
The error appeared after the NAS had the power cut to it whilst it was powering down.
I just wondered if there is anything that can be done prior to start any data recover.
Since the drives took most of the day resyncing I was hoping that volume would have come back online but sadly it hasn't.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Download the full log zip file from the logs page. If you can't analyze it (there is a lot of stuff to wade through), then upload the zip to cloud storage (dropbox, etc), and send me a link in a private message (PM). You can send the PM using the envelope icon in the forum page. Make sure the link permissions are set so anyone with the link can download.
Don't post the link publicly, as there is some privacy leakage when you do that.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the help, really appreciate the help especially how close it was to the holidays. Whilst I wasn't able to repair the file structure to read directly for the NAS I was able to use UFS Explorer RAID Recovery to extract about 99.9% of the data. I tried various software & all seemed to have long discovery process but the UFS Explorer RAID Recovery software recognised the raid straight away & was about to start migrating the data on other drives.
However might need to start another thread on cloud sync/back ups as it seems that none on the pre-installed options on longer work.
Again thanks for the assist.

Worth doing I think. Personally I map the full data volume to a desktop PC that I use as an application server. I then use crashplan to back up the NAS to the cloud. Very affordable, but the the upload is extremely slow. Ok for me, as it is my disaster recovery - my main backups are local.
