Readynas 516 stuck at 92% boot
I have Readynas 516 with 6 x 4TB drives. This morning I was propmpted to update the firmare but after reboot it only got to 99%.

Gearhead support was a success. With a combination of chat, telephone calls and remote access my NAS has been fixed remotely.
I was quite impressed with what can be done remotely but a bit of a wake-up call for me. I didn’t loose any data but I am now actively looking for a back-up solution.
LaCie STGB20000400 20 TB (2 x 10 TB) 2big Dock Is on my shortlist, anybody got any other thoughts?
Thanks for your views. I am going to go with the LaCie and have just ordered one. For my solution I want something that is simply a reliable hard drive no more. I may even disconnect and reconnect periodically

Got the LaCie up and running. Was surprised how compact it is, not much bigger than the hard drives themselves, that suits me though and it is a very robust unit.
Was pre-formatted for Mac. Had to instal LaCie raid manger software before drive was reconised under windows. Then using software delete partition and create new one which automatically gets formatted to your OS and Raid 0 default. Raid 0 treats both hard drives as one with no redundancy. you can change the raid setup.
Once done and rebooted the drive was ready to use. It took me 15 hours to copy my entire server data of 6TB at rates of 111Mb/H. That’s was using USB-C to USB 3.1.
Local file transfer etc from my PC using SSD feels very swift and I saw transfer rates of around 300. It does go to sleep though as you could expect
No real bells or whistles to distract me so I am very happy with it. I have disabled auto start of the LaCie software which provided basic health monitoring and opportunity to change setup if required
