Almost every thread that has multiple users posting their issues/status simultaneously gets hopelessly tangled. It happens in a couple of days (as soon as the thread expands to two or more pages). Any of us who provide advice here will tell you the same thing. We lose track of who has tried what, exactly what firmware each is running, exactly what symptoms each is seeing, etc. It's much better if each user with an issue posts on their own thread. However, its way too late for that on this topic.
ArneG wrote: Of course a tread WILL evolve to be a very tangled one when a critical problem like this persists month after month (approaching half a year now) without any final solution that fix the problem which the thread initially is about.
I understand that you are upset. But there is and will continue to be lots of "technical chit-chat" in this user community. If that bothers you, then maybe its not a good forum for you.
ArneG wrote: Also keep in mind that to most ordinary users all 'technical chit-chat' about various internal/lowlevel issues causing this problem, may very well be put in the account labeled "nerdy geektalk around the same problem". Because the PROBLEM the users are experiencing in the end, is the same for all; They had a perfectly reliable NAS that begun crashing randomly after upgrade to 6.2.x. Now many have been stuck with a totally useless NAS for months while Netgear STILL is 'doing ALL they possibly can do' to figure out what internals of their own ReadyNasOS that is killing many RN10x-systems. It's a shame all these months without a fix...
I've reviewed this particular thread (all 21 pages), and most of the technical comments are coming from users (often directed to other users), not by Netgear. Netgear is responding to user questions, and is in some cases is asking for more information.
