Misunderstanding. I'm sure its the right image. I'm just not sure that writing the image and trying again will help.
That was then, this is now. I seemed to remember one of the old CFs I had lying around had an image on it, but I didn't want to use the giant (at the time) 2GB CF, so I rewrote to the original.
Lo and behold, I tried the 2GB CF and I have a link light, and it shows up in RAIDar.
RAWrite on the original CF, and it shows a link light and shows up in RAIDar.
It isn't up and running yet, but there is a clear path forward.
As an aside, I looked a long time for the firmware and couldn't find it. Although it would be a little work, a sticky with a list of at least latest firmware and which models they apply to could be really useful.

The Infrant ReadyNAS 600 was discontinued well before the NETGEAR acquisition, I think. So it hasn't been sold for well over 10 years.
The Sparc Release Notes mention the NETGEAR models that the firmware is for and the Infrant models. However most KBs are just for NETGEAR models.
