readynas backup
I just "upgraded" to OS 6.6 from 6.51 and can't do a backup from my PC to my ReadyNas312. When I try to do it manually, the staus goes to "in-process" but never finishes. The log does not show any ...
The suggestive do answer is certainly one way to go. For a more complete discussion on my backup issues can be seen in my thread in Tech Support. I urge those having problems with scheduled backups to look at the answer in that thread. Thanks for your interest and help.
Yup, I created a new backup with a test file and share, but had no luck. When I configured the backup, I was able to connect with the source share. The light on the readynas indicates a backup is in progress as does the status on the admin page, but nothing gets transferred and the process never ends. I am open to other sugesstions.

The Source is my Picture Library on my PC (win 10) and the destination is my Picture share on my ReadyNas. When I checked the configuration in the backup setup page, the test result indicated that I was able to connect to the source file. The backup configuration has remained the same for several years and the backups went off as scheduled. I do not use any apps or the ReadyCloud, so I dont see that causing any interference. Things changed when I upgraded to OS 6.6.0. I am now in the process of backing up my ReadyNas in the event that I try a reset. I prefer not to do that, as I fear that I will not be able to reload my files from teh backup drive, but I am getting desperate. I am open to any suggestion that community members want to share. You could run the backup job on the PC. For instance, use robocopy as follows:
robocopy /S /dcopy:T /R:3 /W:2 C:\Users\<useraccount>\Pictures \\<nas-ip-address>\pictures /XF Thumbs.db
This is also incremental, and you could set up a schedule for it on the PC.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I am almost done with the backup and will wait to see if anyone has an idea about ways to hone in on the cause of the problem.
