As I suspected there's your problem. RAIDiator 4.1.6 (http://www.readynas.com/RAIDiator_4_1_6_Notes) was released back in July 2009. This was before Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard was released.
For Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard you should use 4.1.7 or later
For Mac OS X 10.7 Lion you need RAIDiator 4.1.8 or later
Open Frontview (click Setup in RAIDar) and go to System > Update > Remote. You should see the 4.1.8 firmware is available when you check for an update.
There are some performance issues with 4.1.8 so if you're not happy with the performance you can give 4.1.9 beta a try: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=59222
