Readynas duo failed!!!! Need help and advise
Hello All
Only my 3rd week of use with a NAS and to say I have bad luck is an understatement. Can anyone please help me with this question.
My readynas duo just completly failed, It feels and smells like a power failure, but what ever i do i cannot get the device to power back up. (I'm hoping my drives are ok)
I have a replacement readynas getting sent to me tomorrow, but i'm really worried about adding in the harddrives as I really do not want to lose any of my data.
The current set up I have is 2x2tb drives that are mirrored. I have the files shared over both public folders and 2 user accounts that have private shares.
I really cannot afford to lose any of this data (Just before the unit failed I was in the process of configuring a back up)
Can i put the drives into the replacement Readynas Duo chassis and retain the data, or will the readynas duo reformat them?
Has anyone else had this problem?
Cheers
John

- confidentjohnAspirantI have just managed to get through to them, they tell me everything will be fine.
However it would be good to know if anyone else has had this experience, and came out the other end ok. - yoh-dahGuideDrives are designed to migrate to different chassis in the same product family -- we do this all the time. Here's a FAQ you can take a look at:
