ReadyNas DUO v1 - file/folder Permissions (can't delete!)

This is happening for me too, OSX 10.6.8, connected via AFP. What I can't figure out is:
- why only some folders are locked while other aren't
- why I can hit Shift+Delete, enter my (laptop, not readynas) admin password and it'll delete, but...
- I can't only delete, I can't rename or even view the files in the folders (e.g. quickviewing JPGs)
Needless to say, it's doing my head in! I'm looking forward to finding a solution for this.
