I agree that you should consider the current ReadyNAS products first. I'm not sure you could even find a new duo v1 - it has been out of production for several years now.
If your storage needs are growing, consider a 4 slot unit, and leave some slots empty. The cheapest way to expand storage is to add a new disk into an empty slot.
