ReadyNas Duo v1 changing hard drive
SOLVED: I didn't hotinsert the new disk, feeling kind of stupid but can't delete this discussion...
Ok, so a couple of month's back I started having trouble with one of the hard drives (drive 1) in my ReadyNAS Duo. I thought it fixed after some help here but a couple of weeks later the problem was back. So I bought a new hard drive to replace the old one but the NAS doesn't synchronize and RAIDar still thinks it's the faulty drive that's installed. How do I get my ReadyNAS to synchronize with the new drive?
OS: Windows 10
Device: ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 v1
Old (Channel 1) Drive: Hitachi HDS721010CLA332
New (Channel 1) Drive: WDC WD10EZEX
Channel 2 Drive: Seagate ST1000DM003
Sometimes the linux drivers will mark the interface as down when the drive fails (depending on exactly how it failed).
If you have access to the data, you should do a backup (since it is at risk).
After that, try powering down, removing the drive, and rebooting the NAS with the slot empty. Then hot-insert the disk (with the NAS running).
