ReadyNAS Duo v2 - Corrupted Root

You said that you were using these disks on a PC. Before you insert them to your Duo, did you remove the partitions? If not, then possibly that was the cause of the "corrupted root". The system could not recognise the included partitions.
I bought a V2 last week. I also got the FW_Download message on the first boot. I think it was NOT trying to download the firmware from Netgear but was using the default firmware included in the flash. It lasted about 20+ minutes.
