Possibly. Maybe it's that plus the buggy interaction between the drivers and the onboard USB 3 controller. There's still no way to know whether or not a working external USB 3.0 disk will be automatically mounted after a power cycle. I do know that it will be mountable though and work at the better speeds. I know it definitely won't work after a restart/reboot. So many variations I'm hoping this unit has a defective controller.
