What you should have done after upgrading to 4.1.16 was install the ssh add-on (found here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ReadyNAS/ADDON/4.2(X86)/EnableRootSSH_1.0.bin )
Going back to 2009 firmware (4.1.3, 4.1.4) from 4.1.16 was a big mistake. Not sure if a factory default will restore access, or if you need to find an ancient browser (or both).
What status is RAIDar giving you for the NAS? https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar

Hi Stephen,
thanks much! currently, the machine can not boot any more, if i try to restore factory default, it doesn't work. becasue when i plug the DC power cable, no matter i press the reset button or not, when i press the power button, the four LEDs(power, disk1, disk2, backup) quickly blink once(green color),and then all LEDs turned dark and fan is full of high speed, no response any more.
is this machine damaged? i really hope if i can fix the problem... thanks stephen for your help..

Is there any data on the NAS that you care about?
If there isn't, then try removing both drives, and power up. Then see if RAIDar detects the system, and shows you a "no disks" status. IF it does, also let us know what firmware it is showing you. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads
What drives are you using? I don't recall exactly when 4.1.x firmware supported 2 TB drives, and if you are using something larger than 1 TB that might be a problem. I do know that 4K sector alignment showed up in 4.1.7, and you have downgraded below that.
