I think it's unlikely that a power supply problem would cause a fan problem and nothing else. But since you have the supply on hand, what do you have to lose trying it?

I swapped the power supply out on Saturday afternoon. It went three days but now the "fan 1 has failed" came back. Any other suggestions?

  Without a schematic (which Netgear has not released), anything else would be a poke in the dark.

    Worth pulling the board out and looking for something obvious? Cold solder joint? I'm grasping...
