ReadyNAS NV+ cannot login to Admin, but share access via mapping is okay

If you haven't logged into the admin page recently, the user name is "admin". Though its a long shot, you might try using "netgear1" as the password (that is the NV+ default, and it is conceivable that your attempt to reboot included an OS reinstall).
Did you ever enable ssh? Also, have you seen any dropped connections to the NAS data (loss of access to your mapped drives)?
BTW, I am still using my NV+ and a duo v1, so I do understand your desire to keep using them.

Aside from StephenBs suggestions, try other web browsers and PCs. If it's the same behavior, you might want to consider doing an OS reinstall. This procedure will only reset the administrator password and the network settings of your ReadyNAS (no data or directory will change). Steps are available in this article and you have to be extra careful doing the said procedure.

Lol. My admin login has always been Admin, and that works for the mapped drives. The default password does not work, either. I have tried IE 11 and Chrome 47 and 48. I have also tried it from a laptop on my home network, as well as the desktop. I also tried it with McAfee Firewall disabled. I may have already tried the OS reinstall, but I am not sure. I will try that, too. Thanks. Stay tuned for an update...
