ReadyNAS NV+ (RND4410 v3) Doesn't turn on - dead Power Supply?

Hi - My ReadyNAS NV+ all of a sudden has no power going to it. I have tried unplugging and replugging, turning off/on, etc., but the unit has no signs of life.

I suspect that the Power Supply has failed, but wanted to see if there is anything else I should be checking before trying to figure out where to buy a PS and replacing it.

But Netgear no longer has PSU inventory for your NAS, so they can't replace the PSU any more. There is an older posting here by Sandshark on replacing it with a stock Flex-ATX supply: https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-Hardware-Compatibility/Inexpensive-power-supply-replacement-for-legacy-4-bay-Readynases/m-p/1016241#M13476 As noted in the thread, you do need to modify the pinout (there's a link to a diagram).

The Kentek KT-FATX250 mentioned by him is still available for sale (Amazon sells it for ~$28 US).

Also, if your goal is simply to get the data off - you can use a larger ATX supply for that with extender cables (with the pinout mod done in those cables). The PSU won't fit into the chassis of course, but the unit will run.

Welcome to the Community!

Have you tried using a different power cable?

Is the chassis still not powering on even if there are no disks inside it? (Note: Please label the drives with its corresponding bay before you remove them.)

If it is still the same after doing all these, it is very likely that the power supply of the NAS has failed already.

  Hi - thanks for the suggestions. I have swapped the power cable, still no power. I have removed all drives and still no power.
  
  I thought I had read somewhere about a CMOS issue which can cause this symptom, perhaps I was mistaken.
