ReadyNAS NV+ stuck on "Booting Please wait"

Do you still remember the firmware installed on the NAS? You may have to verify what version of NV+ you have. You can use this guide to see if it's a V1 or V2.
Have you installed RAIDar software and check on the status of the NAS? you might still be able to download the logs. Let's check if your NAS can boot without the disks, turn off the NAS and label the disks on what slot they are in and try to boot it without the disks. Try to check the disks for errors as well by connecting it to a PC and run disk utility from the disk manufacturer.
This will help is determine if there's an issue with the chassis or the disks, another possibility might be an issue with the PSU. Unfortunately, Support does not replace PSUs anymore so you will have to purchase it from a third party provider.
If in case you need to recover the data from your disks, you may want to check ReCLAIMe or R-Linux. Community members have suggested using these software to recover data from the disks.

Thank you for your reply. I'm afraid I can't remember the latest firmware version, though the unit was purchased in 2011, so this would suggest it is a V1 unit.
I have installed the latest version of Raidar for Windows, but the NAS is not discoverable.
I will try and boot the unit without the disks and report back once that's done.

The v2 was introduced in late 2011, so perhaps not.
Does your NAS use a power adapter, or is the main power directly connected to the back?
The v2 uses a power adapter, the v1 does not.
It was bought in July 2011, and the power goes straight in the back of the unit.

Assuming I can find one disk that is OK, can I use recovery software you mentioned? Do these programs run on Windows PC OK?

You'll need three (and ideally all four). You can use use USB adapter/docks, or a multi-disk enclosure to connect them to the PC.
If disks are marginal, you could clone them, and recover from the clones. Cloning also ensures that you don't accidentally do more damage to the file system in your recovery efforts.

Yes. FWIW, R-linux for Windows is quite a bit cheaper. ReclaiMe supports the BTRFS file system - which is used by the new OS-6 ReadyNAS, but not by your old NV+ (which uses ext).
Can I at least test the 4 disks one at a time within a Windows 10 PC? Sorry for all the questions, but as a home user, it's a bit daunting buying PC kit in order to assess any potential damage to the disks.
