ReadyNas NV+ v1 no FrontView access, SSH not installed
I powered on my old ReadyNas NV+ v1 yesterday after a few months offline (it's normally disconnected until I need to retrieve or add archival data). The shares are accessible and email notifications seem to work fine however I cannot figure out how to access FrontView. I've read a number of threads and all of them hint to the fact that the firmware (4.1.15 according to RAIDar) might have some conflict with addons or something similar.
I've tried various browsers and computers, reset the OS twice, tried to connect over ethernet cable (I'm using a Macbook running macOS Sierra) but to no avail—FrontView is not responding.
Unfortunately I don't seem to have SSH active (I'm a novice user that only uses his NAS for the most basic of tasks) so I've run out of ideas. Can anyone help me?
Thanks

A short update: after 15+ hours of seeing "Volume C is Syncing (0.0% complete)", RAIDar doesn't detect the unit anymore.
Today I woke up to a non-functional unit; it doesn't respond to power button presses and the activity LED is switched off. I am afraid of forcefully shutting it down (read: unplugging the power cable) as it might cause data to corrupt but I can't think of any alternatives.
Is there any way I can shut it down gracefully?

If it doesn't respond to power button presses, then a forced shutdown (cutting the power) is the only option.

OK, thanks. I've shutdown and restarted the NV+, it went through the FS check, then it sent me an (email) alert that a new version of RAIDiator (4.1.16) was available, it prompted me to reboot it—which I did using the font panel power button—and now it's powered up.
RAIDar detects the unit, says it's healthy, the shares are accessible again and I can connect using Finder. Still no access to FrontView after upgrading the firmware, though.
How can I restore it?

What add-ons (if any) did you have installed?

Hi StephenB,
I recall installing PHP 5.4, Xplorer 5.0 and OwnCloud 8 back in October. Looking at my own message history in this Community I can see that Xplorer was giving me a hard time back then, however FrontView was running fine.
Other than this, I don't remember having installed any other addons.
Thanks for your help
