You can try powering down, and then replacing disk 2 - then powering up. Don't do a hot-swap.

Thanks a lot for your response. Well, I can't access the shares at all, thus I can't say if files are missing. I noticed missing files after swapping the disk two, after reboot there was no access anymore.

- vincent_nowJul 29, 2017AspirantThanks a lot for your advise. I replaced the new disk with the old one, fortunately it worked. The folders are back, it seems to me that the files are all there. Puh... Lucky me.
What would be the next steps? Backup the files, trash the two faulty disks, reset the entire NAS or just bin it?- StephenBJul 29, 2017Guru - Experienced User
Back up the NAS, and then replace disk 1. I think that will resync ok. Then replace disk 3.
Seagate Ironwolf and WDC Reds are much better choices for your NV+ than Seagate DM drives.
- vincent_nowJul 29, 2017AspirantOh, thanks. Working on it. Currently backing it all up to ReadNASVault. Seems to take ages, but seems to be the most secure thing to do.
Thanks again for your advice, it helped me a lot!
