ReadyNAS NV+ V2 failing to start up
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ V2, with 4x 2GB WD Caviar Green drives, set up with the standard XRaid etc - it's been working fine for about 2 years. (Also have several older V1s which have been going much lon...

Sorry to have troubled you, looks like I wasn't as thorough in my searching as I thought - my problem is answered here:

Turns out it's due to powering off with the "Auto Power Off" feature enabled, which essentially bricks the device with older firmware.
Solution - remove the little motherboard battery to reset it.
No need to unscrew anything, just open front door, remove drives, flip it over, reach into the gap with some tweezers and detach the battery. Leave the battery out for a few mins (I gave it 5 to be safe), then put it all back together and power on, and it's alive again. Yay.
Turn off auto-power once it's up in case it happens again, then update firmware.
All running happily again now :)
