ReadyNas NV+ v2 Powers on but doesn't boot. Flashing Blue Backup Light.
Hello!
I've had this ReadyNas NV+ v2 for many years now. It's been pretty solid little device! I have 4x 3TB WD Green drives in there. Not sure if its raid-5 or the special ReadyNas raid variant. I set it up probably 6+ years ago so I don't remember.
Yesterday we had a power failure in our city. Later last night (hours after power was restored) when I went to access the NAS it was still powered off, so I powered it back on and left it for a few minutes to boot up. When I noticed that it still wasn't up I went to check it out.
The unit has power, the power light is on. the "backup" light is flashing blue. The bottom LCD screen is blank (where it usually says Booting... or the IP address). There are no individual lights on for any of the hard drives (also can't confirm that these lights actually exist!)
Product Number: RND4000-200NAS
Model No: RND-4B
What are my next steps? I have critical files on this unit that I need to retrieve!
I'd appreciate any help anyone could provide!
Thank you!
So, I opened it up as much as I could and went at it with compressed air and a vaccuum. I also re-seated any cables that I came across. It didn't seem that dirty at all.
Just like the other post, I put it together enough to power it up. The display started working saying it was booting and eventually said the error was no discs. So I powered it down, and replaced the discs.
Powered it up, it booted and appears to be working again. All files seem to be intact!
I think this is a good time to revisit a critical file secondary backup!!!

See if RAIDar can give you any more info on what is going on. The current 6.5 version is fine for this. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads#raidar

I just got home to try this out. RAIDar could not find ant NETGEAR storage on my network.
I powered off the unit, and disconnected the network cables and left them unplugged for over 10 minutes. Then I plugged everything back in and tried again with the same result.
What can I try next? Thanks!

I found this other post:
I tried booting the nas without any disks in it. No change. RAIDar still unable to see it.
Tried booting to the boot menu by unplugging the unit, holding down the reset button with a pin, then turned the unit on, holding the reset button for 2 minutes. No messages appeared on the screen, and RAIDar still unable to see it.
Tried re-inserting the drives and then accessing the boot menu again by holding the reset button with a pin for 2 minutes. No messages appeared on the display, and the backup light continues to flash.
I'm no scientician, but to me it looks like theNAS, not the drives?
I'll try openning it up and give it a cleaning like that other post did. Any other suggestions?
