ReadyNAS off-line during defrag.

Hi we have a netgear NAS READY drive. After starting defragmentation, the device shows trying to connect to the drive, THe drive status shows as offline. We have a 5.5 TB storage drive out of which 465 GB was showing free.

It says not to restart the storage. What should i do recover it or how much time it can take to come up.

Please advice.

Note that Netgear recommends keeping 20% free space on an OS-6 NAS.

Defragmentation with btrfs is done file-by-file - so the defrag job you started looks at each file, and if it is fragmented it will defragment it.  How long that takes depends on how heavily the volume is fragmented.

What ReadyNAS model do you have, and what firmware is it running?
