ReadyNas Pro 6 not found on new computer
Hi, I hope someone can help me. This old ReadyNas Pro 6 unit (RNDP6000) was hooked up to my old workstation via Ethernet cable for many years. I've since upgraded to a new workstation, running Window...

Try connecting it to your router instead of directly to your PC.
The other option is to set up a compatible static IP address on the Windows PC (just for the ethernet port you connected to the NAS). Set the IP to 192.168.168.100, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and set the gateway to 192.168.168.168.

Stephen thanks for your help and your reply. The extender that is next to my computer only has two ethernet connections and they are both being used, so direct connect to the router is not an option.
I did the static IP address option. I can now see the ReadyNAS on the network page...
When I double click the image under storage, I get this window...
When I double click the image under computer...
I get this window...
None of these folders are what was there before on the old machine. I should mention at this point that I had it hooked up to the other machine in the LAN 1 port and the IP Address was 10.1.10.21 from that port. Would that make a difference in the folders I see?
Secondly, when I double click the "C" folder or "home" folder above, I get
I used "netgear1" as the password. I also tried my user and password for this computer and got this...
I feel like we're getting close, however, as you can see... still need some help here!
Thanks!

FWIW, the 192.168.168.168 IP address you are seeing happens when the NAS cannot get an IP address using DHCP from your router.

When you said the NAS was connected to your old workstation, I assumed that you meant it was directly connected. If you are connecting both the NAS and the PC through the extender, then that is very different - both are already connected to your router.
So the static address option isn't the right path. While it should get you into the NAS, it will end up with your PC not reaching the internet.
However, what happens when you browse to https://192.168.168.168/admin ?
That should get you into frontview.

Thanks Stephen.
When I browse to "https://192.168.168.168/admin", I still get this page...
The NAS WAS connected to my old workstation directly via ethernet cable, via LAN 1 out of the NAS and the IP address was 10.1.10.21 (It still shows that on the readout on the NAS when I put the ethernet cable into LAN 1).
Currently, the router extender has two computers hardwired, one is the office computer, the other is this workstation.
The NAS is also NOW connected to the new workstation directly via ethernet cable. I have it via LAN 2 out of the NAS and the IP address was what the RAIDar showed.
Should I try to connect via LAN 1 out of the NAS? If so, I would need to reset the manual static IP to different numbers, right?
Wish there was some tech help available at Netgear for this, instead of doing it through the community.
Thanks

Unfortunately your screenshot is too small for me to read the error details on the second line.
When was the last time you accessed Frontview???
Your NAS doesn't support TLS 1.2, and most browsers now require that. That started around 2 years ago. Do you recall seeing that issue, and doing something about it? If you don't, then try installing FireFox. Set security.tls.version.min to 1 (browse to about:config and search for the setting). Then browse to https://192.168.168.168/admin
You will still get a security warning, because the certificate in the NAS is self-signed. But you can click through that warning.
There are better solutions to the TLS 1.0 issues, but let's restore access to the NAS before we do anything else.
