    Answering my own question here. The instructions in the forums are subtly wrong or misleading depending upon how you look at it. The relatively precise instructions here http://netgear.nas-central.org/wiki/OS6_on_Legacy_x86 Are the correct ones. The key ambiguities the wiki instructions resolve are BOTH binaries should be uploaded via the firmware update mechanism The factory reset will occur automatically (do not hold the reset pin to get to the Boot Menu manually)
