I have hot removed a 16TB WD Red Pro HDD in slot #2 and added a brand new 18TB WD181KFGX, however the volume is not rebuild...

looks ok - a couple of your file names are in there, but that's the only privacy leakage I see.
I am seeing a photo that failed to copy at the time of the BTRFS errors - but no disk errors. It is possible that there is some file system corruption (in which case the disks might be fine).

In this case, third try is the charm and the 18TB rebuilt into slot #2. Now I know to save some trouble if there's no SMART reading using a USB-SATA cable on a drive.
I was beginning to suspect the ProPioneer... nothing lasts forever and I wonder what I might replace it with, another ReadyNAS or other? If it were not for this forum, I'd be unsupported?
My other ReadyNAS is a RN316, and the used 16TB will go there.
Thanks, Ralph

That is a puzzle at the moment. ReadyNAS are in short suppply, and there are many who think Netgear is abandoning the market. (Netgear hasn't said).
If you are looking now, then you should definitely check out the competition, so you at least have a good idea on price/performance of current models.
