ReadyNAS Replicate: "Connect error code: -51" since firmware update to 6.4.2
I have updated source (RN312) and target (RN104) from 6.4.1. to 6.4.2. Since that, every job failed. Example Log (eMail): [2016-02-16 08:00:05] [Info] Job updated from server
[2016-02-16 08:00:...

Apparently there have been some problems with our server recently. Are your Replicate backup jobs completing again now?

Also, which services and apps are you running on your NAS?
What are your networking settings like? If you don't use IPv6, perhaps you could try disabling that for the network adapter in your NAS?

Mine are also failing as of last night. Usually -51 error is not local but the readynas servers kicking things off. With 4 years of backups under my belt, you can reset the p2p or verify green lights and nothing works while you are getting the -51 errors. Then suddenly things will work with no additional intervention.

Not good: today my one-and-only everyday job failed again.
My ourly testjob did not run - I made a user error :-| Will check again tomorrow.
I ran the testjob manually twice: both failed.
BrianL2: did you also upgrade from 6.4.1 to 6.4.2 like I did?
mdgm-ntgr: your questions implies the need to adapt my configuration after an upgrade from 6.4.1 to 6.4.2. Really?
Anyway: both NAS-es have been initialized from scratch last November, both ran fine with 6.4.1, there is no additional software on them. I could send logs etc. But let's not deep dive to early. I would like to know, wether there is a general problem caused by the update to 6.4.2 (or a server problem at the same time).
rteguy: interesting; I am new to replicate since December. Apart from a server failure right in the beginning, the failed/success ratio was about 5% rougly all the time. It is now at 95 % since the day I got 6.4.2 (...or some other misshap perhaps).
Thanks @all, I will report back, when there are any news.

...yes, everything went fine during the last 20 hours or so (schedules and manual job runs).

Having the same error -51, RN104 to RN102, still on 6.4.1
A reboot sometimes seems to help, not sure if that really is the cause though...
Could be the Netgear Replicate server too.... needing a reboot....

I've done some more tests, getting "Connect Error Code: -51" on multiple jobs and this time rebooting the Source NAS doesn't help :-(
In the description it tells me to check if the source device is online and Replicate service is running, well, that is the case and still error -51.
I did not change anything at all, was working fine yesterday, today it is broken; this happened to me last week as well (thought I had fixed that by rebooting), but not so this time.
It is not 6.4.2 related as I'm still running 6.4.1 on both RN's, for quite some time now, and it was working fine!
Considering MDGMs remark having had some issues on the Netgear Replicate server it seems to me there is still an issue over there...
Would be nice if someone at Netgear would look into this, with no proper alternatives to perform an off site backup we really need Replicate to function well!
Cheers,

Can you send me the logs from your two units (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

In my experience, this might be more usefull than a reboot - no guarantee :-|

Can you try disabling IPv6 for the NIC (ethernet adapter) in the NAS?
- TonVFeb 22, 2016Aspirant
On my RN104 with 6.4.1 I've disabled IPv6 but that did not fix the issue...
