ReadyNAS RNDX4410 stuck at "Booting..."
Hi,
Is there any way to re-flash the internal firmware?
I have a RNDX4410 unit which is not booting up.
I can access all the boot menus but on each one, it just sticks at the "Booting...." prompt.
I have 4 brnad new drives in the unit and NOT worried about any data loss.
I cannot confirm the current firmware but the original sticker on the back is 4.2.8
Regards
Giles

There is some risk of bricking the NAS, so the normal guidance is to do this only if you are advised to do so by support.
Are you saying the NAS simply doesn't boot? If so, have you looked at the status with RAIDar? Testing the disks before you try the procedure might also be a good idea. Use vendor diags in a PC (with the drives connected with either sata, esata, or a USB adapter).
Instructions are here: http://home.bott.ca/webserver/?p=166
The current usb boot recovery download for the NVX is http://www.readynas.com/download/support/ReadyNAS_x86_USB_Flash_Recovery-4.2.24.zip
