ReadyNAS Ultra 6 - Volume expansion problem

What was the initial size of your volume and what size would it be now if the expansion completed? It sounds like you have run into one of the expansion limits of the file system used by OS4.2.x: The limits are explained in item 3 of this article: ReadyNAS-Volume-Expansion. Your Ultra6 can run OS6, though unofficially. So if you end up needing to factory default to get around your problem, you may want to consider going to OS6. It has no similar limits.
I found this in the expansion.log file :

Thank you for your answer.
It seems you are right since since the initial size of the volume was 3Tb (2x3Tb disks - redundant) and my problem occured when I tried to add the 5th disk (for an expected 12Tb volume).
