Thanks you so much. The NAS now has a model name and serial again.
Model is now ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Pro, instread of an ReadyNAS Ultra 6. But I can live with that :-)

So, what was the solution?
Did Marc_V created new VPD file for you?
I run into the same problem.
Interesting thing that all my attempts to create recovery USB using recovery tool failed.
I mean the tool said it created, but it didn't work.
And manual procedure worked!!!
Need to start cmd in Windows as admin though.

Yes, there was remote assistance provided by NetGear staff to add the missing information.
I was contacted by NetGear and had to put NAS in remote assistance mode and make sure it is exposed to the internet (port forwarding in firewall). Before this I had many attemps myself, which all failed.
