ReadyNAS will not boot / USB Recovery (RN31600)
Hi All, I have a 31600 that is failing to boot after a power outage. Unfortunately, the product is end-of-life. I had just recently upgraded the firmware, but had successfully rebooted after the ...

I was about go on the forum to post about my own experience when I came across this thread, what Fiordhraoi describes is VERY similar to what I am experiencing:
* I have a RN314 instead of a RN316 (bought it back in 2013, has been working flawlessly till now)
* Was working till earlier this week, then I noticed it was unresponsive and power-cycled it
* Now getting the same "mount_block_root+25e" message on the display
* Tried following the instructions on this site to create a USB recovery drive, tried a total of 3 USB sticks
- The instructions say clearly to use the front USB port for the drive, but my RN314 only has an eSata port in the front, tried both USB ports in the back
- For 2 out of the 3 USB sticks i tried (pressing the Backup button in my case), I get a "Booting from external USB" for a few seconds before it goes back to "Booting..." followed by the above error message
- Also tried getting into the Boot menu, exact same behavior as what Fiordhraoi describes (two subsequent "Booting..." messages followed by the error message.
I also would like to know what my options are at this point
- Is the RN314 chasis gone beyond repair, given the above? Anything else to try?
- Given the age of the device, I would be in the market for a new ReadyNAS, but would very much want to keep the data on my disks (using all 4 bays right now)
- I saw elsewhere on this site that somebody had success with directly putting their disks from a RN314 into a new RN424, any other people who have done this and can report success?
- Is there any way to send the Chasis with disks in to Netgear and have them do a recovery (given that the RN314 is end-of-life)?

Per the hardware manual, it's a shared eSata/USB 2 port. Page 69 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/ReadyNAS_%20OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf
