ReadyNAS104 External USB Drive keeps becoming Read Only Previously Read/Write

I have a ReadyNAS104 using Firmware 6.10.7.

In the last couple of months I have had 4 external USB drives go from read/write to read only.

The ReadyNAS is on a LAN using an AT&T router that is connected to AT&T's fibre N/W.

I am doing "data reorganization" and the issue with the USB drives occur when a N/W 'hiccup' occurs.

I understand that the hardware has reached "End of Life" but Netgear is still periodically updating the firmware.

I would appreciate it if Netgear would enhance their firmware to reduce the probability that the drive's state 'flips.'
