READYNAS212 Time Machine - inability to access Time Machine
Hi all. Really need some smart, and idiot-proof help - I am not IT-minded....
I have my Time Machine set up to save on my NAS. All was fine. I had to erase the iMac disk and reinstall IOS, and then restore from Time Machine.
Problem start now.
I am asked to supply my Time Machine passwprd, and the user name is defauted to 'root'. I cannot get this to work, with our withut any password, and I have never created a 'root' access on my iMac anyway.
If I try the username for the Time Machine, this doesn't work either - I just get the screen shake of denied acess.
I have tried to connect the actuall HDD direct to the iMac to see if I can open the files that way, but the iMac says the files are unreadable.
If I look into the ReadyNAS via the Manage access of the readycloud webpage, I can see the 909GB of Time Machine info still available, but I simply cannot get to the files to be able to restore them to the iMac.
How can I gain access to these files and restore them please? All help is welcomed.
Tks, Simon

I'm not a mac user, so I have no personal experience here.
But I do suggest trying the NAS admin password.

Interesting! Thanks for that - that admin login got me in there, and now it says 'no time machine backups found'...but via ReadyCLOUD admin page I can see the 909GB in that Time Machine folder, still there....any ideas how I can access it?
