ReadyNASRNDP4000 PSU died, recyclying
Product:: ReadyNASRNDP4000
Country of Purchase: UK
I think the PSU died. Not long after I replaced the fan, which also had died.
I'm assuming a new PSU is going to be too expensive, especially considering that I can't extend the storage beyond its current 2tb hd limit, and I have recovered all the data, so that's not an issue.
But, I don't want to just send it to a tip. I'd like Netgear to pay for the return of the chassis, with the idea that they could recycle it. I have tried contacting them, but there is no way to do that through the current submission process. I have two other Netgear's which are also due to peg it at any moment, a 4bay Ultra and a 2bay Duo. Ideally, I'd use them as part exchange on a new one, but Netgear don't do that. But I am happy to have an avenue for their return when the time comes, if Netgear will make the arrangements.

It's the NV+ that died. The Readynas Ultra and the Duo are what remain. None of them support drives larger than 2tb. I don't think they can be updated to the later OS, which I've read only the later produced models can. So that's why I'm not keen to spend money on a possible fix. I was hoping Netgear would be environmentally friendly and take them, as they break, off my hands.
But I appreciate the time you took to answer. Thank you.- bedlam1Prodigy
