Real-world MacBook Pro GB Ethernet rates ?

I'm looking to get a MacBook Pro to replace my MacBook Air as the lack of a decent GB LAN alternative is getting on my wick (as we say).
I have to copy 40GB files between 2 ReadyNAS Pro units which takes an age with a GB - USB adaptor.
Yes, I could buy a Thunderbolt display - but that's a lot of $ £ € for just a GB NIC.

Anyone here with a 2011 SSD MacBook Pro with data on actual data rates to/from a ProPioneer through a GB network (CAT6 wiring, GB switch etc) ?

Thanks.

Yes, Belkin have just announced for the second time that they will have a TB dock with a GB NIC. Also there is the mythical Sonnet TB to GB NIC adaptor announced last year.

BTW: Just bought a 13" macbook pro (i5 processor) with SSD. Not had chance to do any performance testing over ethernet, though an initial full TM backup seemed pretty quick vs my iMac running a 5400RPM Hitachi Drive
  • So the Sonnet GB NIC bites the dust - Go Belkin Go !

I'm going to wait till the 15in new MBA format MBP is announced. If that doesn't have a GB NIC then I'll be looking for an old style 15in SSD MBP. The TBD doesn't have the appeal for me.

I've had SSDs for over 4 years now (Transcend>Mtron>Samsung>Intel>MBA Toshiba) and I would never go back.
