Recover deleted directory

Right. I do that with mission critical data. This directory had 6.5TB (compromising 95% of all my network storage data) of non compressible data in huge files which doesn't lend itself to being stored in the cloud or even easy physical back up. I have always understood that if something happened to it I might be hosed, but it wasn't (and still isn't) worth the time or cost to set up a second 10TB array for the sole purpose of backing up my original 10tb array (I can barely justify the expense of the readynas pro in the first place).

That being said I was hoping there was a way to recover from my error. Hitting the delete key by accident is not a particularly uncommon error. It never occurred to me that this was some sort of insurmountable problem. I wouldn't even be writing this post if my storage had been local because I already would have recovered the data.

So the question remains. Is there a way to recover my data? I would think that I could use a snap shot or something to at least recover most of it, but I can't figure out how.

PS- It is backed up because a I still have all the original media so I can recreate the directory one disk at a time that's just a PITA
