Reformat HD drive to use on ReadyNas 2100

I have 2 ReadyNAS 2100.  One is in use and the other is no long being used.  The one in use has 1 drive that has failed so I want to pull a hard drive out of the 2100 that isn't being used and replace it with the bad drive.

The drive I want to replace it with has data on it.  How do I reformat this drive to use on my production 2100 that has the failed drive?

Thanks!

You can hot-insert it into the NAS (while it is running), and if you do that the disk will be automatically wiped.

You could also connect to a PC (either SATA or with a USB adapter), and use Windows Disk Manager to unformat it.  Alternatively use vendor PC tools (seatools or lifeguard) to zero the drive.
