If you download your logs (Status > Logs > Download all logs) are there any clues in httpd_errors.log?
When you lose access to Frontview is the NAS under heavy load?
You could install EnableRootSSH for Sparc (see http://www.readynas.com/?p=4203) and SSH in.
To restart Frontview you would do e.g.
